Pilgrimage of the Moon Witch

Nellie Nightjar Powler, a naïve rural healer who only wants to help people, discovers she is inadequate to handle any serious challenges and leaves her village and husband to seek Moon Mountain, which she considers to be the source of her powers.

The Pilgrimage of the Moon Witch is a fantasy trilogy told through many stories that follow Nellie as she leaves her quiet country village to journey across two continents seeking what she believes to be the source of her power in hopes of becoming a more capable witch. She begins to comprehend the regrets that magic and immortality have brought her. Nellie and her companion wolf, Ragska, rescue those along the way that are threatened by monsters and tyrants. She meets monsters whom she learns to respect and heroes who gained their respect through monstrous acts of atrocity. Eventually she learns ancient secrets of her world and of Moon Mountain itself. Through facing these adventures, she accepts the choices she has made and the consequences of them, as well as accepting people for the good they have become despite their villainous beginnings and not accepting villains who are not willing to change, no matter who they are or their good intentions.
